The Arduino Uno, the Arduino Nano and the Arduino pro mini support only two external interrupts, on digital pins 2 and 3. The Arduino Mega supports 6 external interrupts whereas the ESP8266 chip can support 16 external interrupts. Let’s now see how to use an interrupt on a digital pin of the Arduino with an example. Arduino Timer and Interrupt Tutorial This tutorial shows the use of timers and interrupts for Arduino boards. In the Arduino world the Servo library uses Timer1 on Arduino Uno (Timer5 on Arduino Mega). Timer2: Timer2 is a 8bit timer like Timer0. An interrupt is an external event that interrupts the running program and runs a special.

Attaching more than 3 interrupts to an Arduino Uno?
This page on the arduino web site boggles me. On one hand they are saying that there are only 3 pins for interrupts but on the other hand they are saying that any pin can be attached to an interrupt for raise/falling.
Can someone please explain this to me? can I eventually attach 4 interrupts to an arduino UNO? I have two wheels attached to two pololu encoderes, each wheel has 2 sensors, thus I need 4 interrupts.
Thanks a bunch.
